Illness blows.

So, haven’t posted for a while now. Not to say that nothing has grabbed my attention — the furore over the budget, the chaplaincy programme, and so on continue apace — but I haven’t had the energy to write even this much until today.

The last few weeks a stomach bug has been doing the rounds at the campus where I live, and it’s taken both me and the missus down for over a week. Normally when I’m down like this I can at least squeeze some writing out, but not this time. I wasn’t even able to do the editing on my non-fiction book I had planned. I just sat in bed all day, zoning in and out of consciousness every hour or two.

Things are looking up now, though. I should still be able to get this pass done and send it off to a professional editor before we fly home for the mid-year break. I think that’s the only thing really keeping us both going at this point, knowing that in just a few weeks we’ll be taking a well-deserved holiday with the family and the cats. Jenny in particular has had terrible luck this semester. She’s been healthy for maybe three whole weeks since February.

Not much else to report, except that I may be hearing about a new job soon. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
